2020 Webinar Series: Clinical Psychopharmacology of Anxiety Disorders and PTSD. Presented by Richard Kim, MD
Length: 3 Hours

This webinar will provide an introduction to the clinical psychopharmacology of anxiety disorders and PTSD. General principles of psychopathology and psychopharmacology relevant to an understanding of the treatment of anxiety disorders and PTSD will be reviewed. The classes of psychotropic medications will be explained, especially with regard to their mechanisms of action, indications for use, and side effects. Research studies and clinical guidelines will be reviewed to gain a better clinical appreciation of the uses and limitations of psychotropic medications. This webinar will be very practical in nature, and tailored to the clinical day-to-day needs of psychotherapists who work with patients on psychiatric medications. Finally, we will end with a discussion of spiritual and psychological factors that may impact psychopharmacological treatment.
