Learning Objectives:
In this innovative and integrative presentation, attendees will learn the definition and prevalence of pornography addiction, and how the pornography addiction cycle impacts a person’s well-being with regards to their mind, body and soul. New research findings on the biological and neurological impact of pornography usage on brain functioning will be explored, including modern impact on the social, marital and relationship impact of pornography use. Attendees will explore how pornography addiction and substance addiction share similar biological and developmental features, including neurological similarities. The pornography addiction cycle will be utilized to assist attendees in gaining a greater understanding of their clients’ struggle with sexual addictions. An integrative mind-body-soul approach to treatment will be outlined including integrating psychological practices with the Sacraments of Confession and the Eucharist. Attendees will learn modern clinical treatment options for clients struggling with pornography addiction.
