Description

Description:
Benedictine writer Esther DeWaal, in her book, Living With Contradiction (2014), makes a statement that should catch a Catholic psychotherapist’s attention: “I believe that we can turn to the Rule of St Benedict, and find there a handbook of healing.” For fifteen centuries, St. Benedict’s Rule has promoted stability and transformation of life amid civilizational, technological, and cultural changes. His teachings on spiritually and psychologically mature character virtues such as humility, hospitality, moderation, and community have definite clinical applications.
