‘Rediscovering’ is a hopeful guide to sexual integration. On truthful bones (St. John Paul ll’s ‘Theology of the Body’ from which the title is lifted, and Josef Pieper’s take on the cardinal virtues), I flesh out my 42 years of accompanying persons out of sexual brokenness and into wholeness (I am Founder/Director of Desert Stream Ministries). I seek to ‘incarnate’ hope amid struggle through exuberant witnesses: in truth and in practice, merciful Jesus engages our divided selves and loves us into ‘our lost fullness.’ My presentation will speak into this current cultural phenomenon that equates justice with championing sexual disintegration, and how our Catholic moral ethos is ‘good news’ to the sexually broken.
