Description

Description:
This is the second of four independent modules of Level 1 of the CPA's new Certificate in Catholic Psychotherapy Integration (CCPI). Module Two focuses on cultural and spiritual tools when working with Catholic patients. This workshop will explore the intersection of natural and supernatural considerations in clinical practice, especially focusing on the complexities clinicians may face when addressing clients who hold belief systems inclusive of demonic influence. Clinicians will gain skills in incorporating culturally informed questions during clinical interviews and in identifying cultural components that may influence differential diagnoses. The workshop will emphasize culturally competent care, helping participants design treatment plans that account for cultural identity development, immigration-related trauma, and other pertinent cultural issues. Additionally, the workshop will cover common psychological challenges associated with infertility and miscarriage, providing evidence-based interventions to support individuals experiencing these profound losses. Clinicians will leave with a deeper understanding of how to integrate cultural and spiritual insights into effective and compassionate treatment. Participants will benefit from a structured, respectful dialogue on the roles that both natural and supernatural influences play in the healing process, gaining practical skills for culturally and spiritually sensitive approaches that support clients holistically.

*Note: Module 1 is a prerequisite for attendance.

The CCPI is a three-level series, of which CCPI Level 1: Initial Foundations is comprised of four independent but prerequisite modules that will be available in sequence.
