Description

Description:

This is the fourth of four independent modules of Level 1 of the CPA's new Certificate in Catholic Psychotherapy Integration (CCPI). Module Four equips Catholic clinicians with a deeper understanding of the integration of Psychological Practice with the Tradition of the Catholic Church and Canon Law. Participants will learn how a metaphysical perspective of the human person brings to light human nature understood as belonging to a creature of both body and soul in the image and likeness of God. This first part of this module will explore the classical philosophical understanding of the subalternation of the sciences in order to better understand where the positive sciences fit within the classical wisdom tradition. The second component of this module will explain the Catholic Church’s understanding of the Bond of Marriage and the role of the psychological expert within the nullity process. Finally, it will explore the organizational structures within the Church and the difficulties that may arise within the Clinical relationship between a diocese or religious community and a client to be assessed.

Note: This module does NOT have CEs attached but is required for successful completion of Initial foundations. Also, all previous Modules are prerequisites for this Module.

The CCPI is a three-level series, of which CCPI Level 1: Initial Foundations is comprised of four modules that must be taken in sequence. Each module will present live and following, be in our On-demand library prior to the next module. At the completion of each Level, a Certificate will document the incremental completion as well as the completion of all Levels.
If you complete the final module in a Level in the live presentation, your Certificate will automatically be generated. If you complete the final module via On-demand, please notify cpa_admin@catholicpsychotherapy.org upon doing so.
