Mrs. Lorraine Saldivar, LPC-S, LCDC
After raising 3 children, being a youth minister and working for the Office of Pro-life and Chaste Living in the Diocese of Austin, Texas, I decided to pursue a higher education degree. I obtained an Associates of Applied Science in Addiction's Profession, a Bachelor's of Science in Social Psychology and a Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling. My philosophy is that the client is the expert in him/herself and my goal is to help the client identify and work to reach their goal(s). I use an attachment-focused, internal family system, person-centered, holistic approach. I consider mental health intricately connected with physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Therefore, I work to understand where a person came from, what is going on in the person's life today and where they would like to be. Then I journey with them, to heal the past when possible in order to free them up to reach their goal(s).
I also assist individuals (16 years or older) experiencing depression, anxiety, or wishing to address a previous or recent trauma. I am an EMDRIA (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association) Certified EMDR Therapist and Approved Consultant. I use EMDR Therapy to help individuals process trauma, reduce anxiety, and desensitize triggers related to addiction/abuse.
My experience and expertise includes, but is not limited to the following:
• Trauma
• Depression & Anxiety
• Attachment issues
• Life Changes (relationships, job, empty nest, parenting, caregiver)
• Loved ones of someone struggling with addiction
