Mrs. Lorraine Saldivar, LPC-S, LCDC
After raising three children, serving as a youth minister, and working for the Office of Pro-Life and Chaste Living in the Diocese of Austin, I pursued higher education in the helping professions. I earned an Associate of Applied Science in Addiction Profession, a Bachelor of Science in Social Psychology, and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling.
My philosophy is that the client is the expert in their own life. My role is to help clients identify and work toward their goals using an attachment-focused, internal family systems, person-centered, and holistic approach. I view mental health as deeply connected to physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Therefore, I seek to understand each person’s background, current circumstances, and hopes for the future, and then walk with them in the healing process—helping to resolve past pain when possible in order to free them to move forward.
I work with individuals (16 and older) experiencing depression, anxiety, or the effects of past or recent trauma. I am an EMDRIA-Certified EMDR Therapist, Approved Consultant, and trained in Level 1 Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR). I use EMDR and/or DBR to help clients process trauma, reduce anxiety, and desensitize triggers related to addiction and abuse.
My experience and expertise includes, but is not limited to the following:
• Trauma
• Depression & Anxiety
• Attachment issues (Early Childhood Trauma)
• Life Changes (relationships, job, empty nest, parenting, caregiver)
• Loved ones of someone struggling with addiction
