Description

Description: This presentation will elucidate how substances, high-risk behavior, and mental health problems affect healthy neurodevelopment, change brain structure and describe the role of genetics, the effect of environmental trauma, and implications for prevention and treatment. Assessment, treatment, prevention, family-of-origin, and group tools will be included. Content is relevant for clinical use and application of executive functioning skills assessment and building, the use of genetic testing in treatment planning, use of natural supplements to support neurotransmitter deficits, helping clients discover the origins of their use, and devising brain-based treatment plans that align with neurodevelopmental healing and dendrite growth facilitation.
