Description:
The primary aim of this session is to provide insight regarding the role of the virtues in the trauma recovery process. First, this presentation will establish an operational definition of trauma, and demonstrate how that definition has morphed over time. Next, the extant literature on the role of virtue in the healing process will be explored. The presenter will also explore the theology of virtue--and specifically in the context of healing--drawing from Scripture and Tradition. Lastly, these concepts will be applied to a clinical case study and provide time for the audience to engage in a case conceptualization.
